Elon Musk's purchase of the social app, Twitter, has had many people up in arms and he has only had two weeks on the job. From laying almost half of the site's workforce to charging verified users a monthly fee to keep their blue checks people are leaving with no hesitation. The latest? Whoopi Goldberg.
— The View (@TheView) November 8, 2022The View co-host spoke about her decision on air with her fellow panelists. “I’m getting off. I’m getting off today, because I just feel like it’s so messy and I’m tired of now having had certain kinds of attitudes blocked, and now they’re back on."The “certain kinds of attitudes” the actress references are about a reported increase in racist and antisemitic posts on the platform. Her decision to leave the platform also comes after comedian Kathy Griffin's Twitter account was permanently suspended. Griffin changed her original Twitter name to “Elon Musk” and almost immediately was thrown off of the site. She then logged into her late mother’s account and tweeting at Musk: “Please do a better job running this company. It used to mean something.”The Tesla CEO announced Sunday, “Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended.”Goldberg wrapped up her announcement on Monday's show with her opinion on the current state of social media. “People keep saying it’s free speech, but all speech is not free speech. Some speech is not okay free speech. So everybody has to agree on that, but if people keep saying ‘You hurt my free speech” it’s going to be a problem. You know what? This is our problem. But it ain’t my problem today because I’m out.”
In a post on her Instagram stories, the Over It singer shared a photo of her and rapper, LVRD Pharoh (Larry), posing with her daughter whom she shares with producer London On Da Track. Over the image she updated fans on her life, which included the break up, and she confirms she has "decided to be single."The singer makes it clear that there are no hard feelings between the two. She says that she still thinks of him as an "amazing father" but there are things she won't tolerate.Walker also addressed the backlash on social media due to the announcement of the breakup. "Also I don't have to name names b/c you see it everyday in the media, all these celebrity women who are in "marriages" or in long term relationships with children getting dogged out every week," she says. "Relax with all that wow she's still not married, I could've been married to either one of my child's fathers, it's just certain things I won't but NOTHING was a mistake I wanted all my children by the age of 25 on PURPOSE & did that."This comes months after the two announced they were expecting a child together; Summer's second and Larry's first. The pair have been together for about a year and even got each other's name tattooed on their faces.
