Abbott Elementary actress Sheryl Lee Ralph is stepping away from the classroom to sing The Negro National Anthem, “Lift Every Voice and Sing". Later, veteran songwriter, singer and producer Babyface will take center stage to sing "America the Beautiful."
Ralph, 66, shared the news on Instagram to her 806k followers.
"Come on now. Don’t you ever give up on you baby! I’ll be singing Lift Every Voice and Sing at Super Bowl LVII – See you there."
The twelve-time Grammy Award-winning singer shared, "Truly excited and honored to perform America the Beautiful at Super Bowl LVII and to be a part of this pregame lineup."
Ralph has become a staple in the entertainment industry with a career spanning three decades. She recently won her first Emmy for her role in ABC's Abbott Elementary and later received her first Golden Globe nomination for the same role.
With a forty year career, Babyface has produced and written 125 Top 10 hits, 44 No. 1 R&B hits and 16 No. 1 pop hits. Girls Night Out, his latest album, follows his traditional theme of love & heartbreak but with a modern feel.
The NFL organization announced musician Chris Stapleton will sing the national anthem.
Last year, it was revealed that Rihanna will serve as the Apple Music Superbowl Halftime Show performer.
Super Bowl LVII, which will be played on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023 will mark Apple Music's first year as part of the Super Bowl Halftime Show.
