Serena Williams' Daughter Becomes Youngest Professional Sports Teams Owner
Alexis Olympia Ohanian is following in her moms footsteps for making history.
At just 5 years old, Alexis is the owner of not one, but two sports teams -women’s soccer team, Angel City FC and The Los Angeles Golf Club.
Ohanian Jr.'s first investment, Angel City, was founded by her dad Alexis Ohanian Sr in 2020. He stated his daughter largely influenced the decision.
"As someone who spends hours kicking around a football with my two-year-old daughter, I want her to have a front row seat to this revolution. I'm personally investing on behalf of my family because creating more opportunities in women's sports is important to my wife @serenawilliams and me, and we want to be a part of making a better future for our daughter @olympiaohanian," he wrote.
Three years ago, Serena also announced that her daughter was a 'Proud Owner Angel City' showing shots of the then two-year-old Olympia with a soccer ball.
Ohanian Jr. newest investment, TGL (Team Golf League), is a new primetime golf league that fuses technology and live action. The new league was developed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA TOUR.
Family affair
Serena, her husband and her sister, Venus Williams, all share ownership of the team. The 23-Grand Slam Title Holder shared her excitement about the new endeavor with her family.
"It’s official! I’m thrilled to announce my involvement with @tglgolf with the launch of @wearelagc - Los Angeles Golf Club. An important part of the spirit and purpose of LA Golf Club is making golf our own, for everybody, and I couldn’t be more excited to shape the future of this sport with my family @alexisohanian @olympiaohanian and @venuswilliams."
Ohanian Jr. will share ownership with her sibiling who will be arriving soon. At the 2023 Met Gala, Serena and Alexis Ohanian Sr. announced they were expecting their second child.
